Photo-Etch Calculator — PE Detail Set Planning

Estimate CA glue and time needed for photo-etch detail sets.

How We Calculate This

Estimates CA glue consumption and working time based on PE part count, size and complexity.

Formula

  • CA glue = Part count × Glue per part (by size)
  • Working time = Parts × Minutes per part × Complexity factor
  • Total time = Working time × Prep & Cleanup Factor (default 1.3 = +30%)
  • Bottles = Glue needed ÷ 20 ml (rounded up, minimum 1)

Bottle count assumes a ~20 ml (≈20 g) hobby CA bottle — typical formats run 0.5 oz (~15 ml), 1 oz (~30 ml) and 2 oz (~60 ml); adjust the cost-per-bottle field to your actual bottle. The glue-per-part and minutes-per-part figures are rough planning estimates, not manufacturer data — a single CA drop is ~0.03-0.05 ml and PE joints use sub-drop amounts.
